Phytosanitary regulations of many countries require commodities and packing materials to be fumigated prior to export. In such cases, it is also often mandatory that such fumigation treatment be either endorsed on the Phytosanitary certificate or that the consignment be accompanied by a fumigation certificate issued by approved fumigation agencies.
To the extent possible, fumigation is also important as it may be carried out to prevent loss/ rejection of consignment if pests are found in the course of inspection.
Where required, Leemerg will arrange for fumigation of commodities and any other relevant packing material/container etc. with appropriate fumigant (Methyl Bromide/ Aluminum phosphide), depending on the nature of pest, consignment and as per the requirement of the importing country. All fumigation activities will be carried out in strict adherence with the national and international guidelines laid out in respective ISPM by accredited fumigation agencies
